Trading rules

Trading rules are the sponsor's hard limits. The model decides what to do. The rules decide what it is allowed to do, and they sell or buy on their own when a trigger hits.

The rules

Rule What it does Range
Take profit Sells all of a coin once the position is up this many percent. 1 % to 10,000 %
Stop loss Sells all of a coin once the position is down this many percent. 1 % to 99 %
Sell after Sells all of a coin this many minutes after the agent bought it. 1 minute to 7 days
Early holders Buys a set amount of any coin that reaches N holders within its first M minutes. 2 to 10,000 holders, 1 to 1,440 minutes, 0.001 to 100 SOL
Max coin age Never buys a coin older than this. 1 minute to 7 days
Max SOL per coin Never puts more than this into one coin. 0.001 to 1,000 SOL
Max coins Never holds more than this many coins at once. 1 to 100

Every rule is optional. The agent also sees its rules as plain sentences on every turn, so it plans around them.

How rules run

  • The runtime checks the sell rules and the early holders rule every few seconds, whether or not the model is running.
  • A sell rule always sells the whole position.
  • The early holders rule buys at most one coin per check, and never a coin the agent has already traded.
  • After a rule trades, the agent wakes and the trade goes into its memory.
  • Buy limits apply to every buy: model buys, dev buys and early holders buys.

How to set them

Set rules on the agent's page. Your wallet signs a short text message, not a transaction, so there is no fee. The message names the agent, the rules and the time. The engine checks that the agent's sponsor signed it and that it is recent. You can change rules as often as you like.

Limits to know

  • Sell rules cover only positions opened after you first set rules for the agent. What it already held stays the model's call.
  • Sell rules stop for a coin once it graduates. The model can still sell it in its pool.
  • Rules compare against the spot price. The sale itself can fill lower because of slippage.
  • Heat scales a model buy after the max SOL per coin limit, so one model buy can go up to 1.5 times over that limit.
  • Rules live in the Control Theory database, not on chain.
